Dede Wilsey has earned a reputed position for being a successful philanthropist for over thirty years. She was born in Washington DC with her powerful personality and fine sense of business inherited from her ancestors. Her late husband was also a successful philanthropist, whose services serve to be an inspiration in her life.
With Dede Wilsey dedication and prestigious style of fund raising she has worked to serve many esteemed boards in San Francisco including the San Francisco Opera, the San Francisco Ballet, and the Grace Cathedral. Working on her latest project by UCSF Medical Centre, she has the potential to raise close to $600 million for their proposed hospital complex. Dede Wilsey has previously helped the UCSF to raise $200 for their other ventures and $450 million for other philanthropic projects in San Francisco. For the successful rebuilding of the Young Museum in 2005, she raised $208 million from more than 7,000 donors and showed great energy and commitment throughout the ten year project.
